A red flower and a softly coloured circular backdrop frame the figure in Alphonse Mucha's Painting. The woman's outstretched arms, pink drapery, and curling lines give the design its graceful Art Nouveau character.
Nature and artistic inspiration
Created for Mucha's The Arts series in 1898, Painting uses a flower to express nature as a source of inspiration for art. It belongs to the same set as Music, Poetry, and Dance. This newly printed reproduction brings the historical composition to a modern wall-art format.
